Environmental Management System – DS/EN ISO 14001:2015 (ISO 14001)

FORCE Certification offers certification for your environmental management system according to DS/EN ISO 14001:2015. This offers you a recognised, effective management tool for documenting your environmental processes to your customers and other stakeholders. Certification, at the same time, ensures a continuous oversight and optimization of your environmental management system and processes.

Many companies have implemented an environmental management system, helping to demonstrate their environmental awareness to the market while also benefiting from financial savings, reduced environmental risks, and compliance with environmental requirements. Environmental management can yield financial savings while also helping your organisation to comply with environmental requirements.

Often, customers even require your business to hold a DS/EN ISO 14001 certificate to prove that the business’s environmental matters are managed under an effective environmental management system.

Companies not required to achieve certification for their environmental management systems often choose to have their systems certified anyway in order to gain input for improvements and benefit from impartial oversight of their systems through external auditing. This standard is of use to both large and small businesses.

A certified environmental management system ensures continuous improvement of environmental performance

FORCE Certification is accredited by DANAK SYSTEM, reg. no. 6005, to certify environ-mental management systems in accordance with DS/EN ISO 14001:2015.

Aside from the fact that an environmental management system under ISO 14001 can be used to document a company’s processes and other matters related to resource consumption, emissions, waste and wastewater, the use of chemical substances, and similar environmental aspects, it also puts a spotlight on continuously improving the company’s environmental efforts.

Thus, an environmental management system helps to ensure that the company is continuously optimising and prioritising its environmental efforts, benefiting its environmental processes – not to mention its bottom line.

Accredited certification according to ISO 14001 and exec. order 624/2023 on mandatory energy audits

We also offer accredited certification according to ISO 14001:2015 in combination with the additional requirements of executive order 624/2023 on mandatory energy audits at large businesses.

What does the environmental management system certification process look like?

The start of a typical certification process is an initial meeting at the company’s premises. During this meeting, the rest of the process is planned.

A typical sequence looks like this:

  • Phase 1: Auditors from FORCE Certification assess whether the company’s environmental management system adheres to the DS/EN ISO 14001:2015 standard.
  • Phase 2: Auditors from FORCE Certification conduct interviews and observe key areas of the company to confirm that the environmental management system has been properly implemented and is followed in everyday operations..
  • Concluding meeting with company management to review results
  • Any outstanding issues are addressed, and upon satisfactory resolution, an environmental management certificate is issued.

FORCE Certification’s auditors approach the job with appreciation for your efforts and strive to provide your company with a certification process that adds value. This way, your company can focus on any critical areas where action is required and areas for improvement where action would be welcome.

Interplay between management systems

If your company has already implemented management systems, such as an ISO 9001 quality management system, an ISO 14001 environmental management system, or an ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management system, combining these systems with an energy management system is a natural choice.
