Accredited certification of welding workshops – ISO 3834 and EN 1090

A certified quality system for welding increases your productivity, competitiveness and credibility. FORCE Certification A/S offers accredited certification of welding workshops and companies producing structural steel, steel structures and other construction products in accordance with ISO 3834 and EN 1090-1.

The certification takes place in accordance with our DANAK accreditation and is carried out by our trained and specialized auditors.

If you need, we can perform certification according to both standards simultaneously. We can also certify according to other quality management standards, such as f.eks. ISO 9001.

Which standard should we be certified according to – ISO 3834 or EN 1090?

When you need to certify the welding workshop or company, you can do so according to either ISO 3834 or EN 1090-1, depending on your production.

For welding work on pressure plants, you may typically use ISO 3834-2, and for steel structures according to Eurocode 3, you must use EN 1090-1, which is a requirement.

When should we be certified according to ISO 3834?

DS/EN ISO 3834 consists of six parts.

ISO 3834-1 “Criteria for the selection of the appropriate level of quality requirements” provides an overview of application and serves as a guide for the other 5 parts. ISO 3834 covers quality requirements for the manufacture of welded products and structures and is designed in such a way that:

  • is independent of the type of construction manufactured
  • defines quality requirements for welding in welding workshops and/or assembly sites
  • provides guidance to describe the ability of companies to manufacture structures that meet specified requirements
  • provides a basis for assessing companies’ ability to weld.

When should we be certified according to EN 1090?

DS/EN 1090, includes requirements for the company’s quality management system (FPC) for steel structures and is mandatory for all parts for load-bearing structures, in the form of CE marking, which is delivered to a construction site in Denmark and the rest of the EU.
