Before a new or converted lift is put into use
Before a new lift can be put into operation, either a final check or a unit verification must be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Lift Directive 2014/33/EU.
We therefore review the manufacturing to see if it corresponds to the lift model that has been type-tested, or we assess whether the lift has been constructed according to the Lift Directive’s requirements and applicable standards.
In addition, we check conversions to ensure that they meet applicable national regulations from the Norwegian Working Environment Authority.
Inspection and testing
We inspect and test (drop test) all types of lifts, escalators and lifting platforms etc. We check e.g. the elevator’s safety system and emergency calls, and during installation checks we review the elevator and its surroundings, such as access roads and machine rooms.
Certificate
If the lift complies with applicable requirements and regulations, FORCE Certification A/S issues an inspection certificate.
The certificate documents whether the elevator’s safety system worked correctly at the time of the test and that the elevator is therefore safe to use. FORCE Certification A/S issues inspection reports, from which all tests appear.
Impartiality
FORCE Certification A/S is accredited according to Danish national regulations and appointed EU Notified Body to carry out inspections.
