Installation control and periodic inspection of elevators

Force Certification A/S is accredited by DANAK according to executive orde no. 629 of 27. June 2008 on the use and installation of lifts, etc. as accredited third party inspection body for installation control and periodic inspection of elevators.

Our services as inspection body includes the following and is documented with an inspection report:

◊  Installation control of new lifts

The inspection control of new lifts will normally be performed immediately after that a notified body has finished either a unit verification or a final inspection of the lift installation, or alternatively the lift have been checked by the supplier’s self control. The installation control include, among other things. control of access routes, any alien installations, conveniences, lighting, location of control cabinets and service panels, etc. Furthermore the minimum, allowable number of annual servicing of the current installations we shall determined (order 629/08, annex 3).

The installation checks are carried out in accordance with the Executive order on Chapter 4 and annex 2 as well as the Danish working environment service’s guides.

◊  Installation control of lifts after alteration or repair

After any verified (approved) alteration or replacement of a lift an installation control shall be performed before the lift can be put into use. List controls include, among other things. control of access routes, any alien installations, conveniences, lighting, location of control cabinets and service panels, etc. If the lift has been changed significantly, a modified number of annual servicing of the current installation, might have to be determined..

The installation checks are carried out in accordance with the Executive order on Chapter 4 and annex 2 as well as the Danish working environment service’s guides.

◊  Periodic inspection of the existing lifts

Periodic inspection is carried out in accordance with Executive order (to 629/09) Chapter 7, section 39, as well as the detailed requirements set out in annex 5. The periodic inspection shall demonstrate that the lift is in such a state that its continued operation can be done without risk to users or persons in the vicinity of the lift installation.

The periodic inspection will include as a minimum the notice in annex 5 referred to 14 points, but any other obvious defects will of course be registered. Any deficiencies will be required to be rectified, if they are important for the safety of elevator installation.

Our inspectors have many years of experience and can help you through the entire process, where we check that:

  • your lift (lifting equipment) is in compliance with the applicable legal requirements,
  • it is correctly installed, and
  • compliance with the operational and safety properties.

In short, we are helping to make your customers ‘ everyday lives more secure.

You should be aware that your elevator regularly shall be serviced by an elevator service contractor.
